Welcome to your Official Electrolysis & Laser Hair Removal Network!Need some good Electrolysis Laser Hair Removal advice? We're here to help!Home Laser Hair RemovalIs Home Laser Hair Removal Safe?Laser hair removal is quickly becoming a very popular way to handle and manage excess body hair. However, it can cost thousands of dollars, which is out of reach for many people. Thus, some are turning to home laser hair removal. The FDA has recently approved two products made for home laser hair removal. The Silk’n and Tria are two such products. Both of them cost less than $1000 making them an affordable option for home laser hair removal. The way that it traditionally works is that a doctor aims a high intensity light at the skin to kill the hair follicles. Generally, you would meet with the doctor and find out if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. It’s generally best for those with light skin and dark hair. If you decide to do home laser hair removal, you would be taking a risk as you haven’t met with a doctor to find out if you’re a good candidate. There are also risks of burning and scarring if home laser hair removal is not done correctly. One of the major reasons that home laser hair removal can be difficult to do yourself is that you have to make sure not to overlap the pulses on your skin. It can be hard to tell where you have already used the laser and where you have not. If you go over the same area that you already did with the laser, it can cause extreme pain and possible permanent scarring. That is one reason why home laser hair removal is not recommended by doctors. Some of the criticisms of home laser hair removal are that the lasers are not actually strong enough to permanently remove the hair. Rather, that it’s actually just burning the hair off to make it appear that way. There really hasn’t been enough research done to know if that is true or not. Even when laser hair removal has been done at a doctor’s office, it doesn’t always work. If you decide to utilize home laser hair removal, just be very careful. |
